Philosophy:

Helen Roberts started Interior Editing because she believes that this is a new era in interior design.  Gone are the days when having a decorator was only for the extremely wealthy and the days when if you used a designer you felt intimidated into bowing to their decorating style and buying expensive things through them. 

Interior Editing believes that interior decorating can be both creative and practical and that everyone can have a beautiful home that reflects their own personal taste no matter what their budget.  The world has changed and today quality furnishing and décor are readily available to consumers.  But we recognize that the decision making process can be confusing and overwhelming for people.  Thats why we're here to help with effective solutions for your decorating needs.

Interior Editing is excited to share with people the simple ways they can make their homes more comfortable and beautiful by providing affordable decorating services and educating, involving and inspiring people to make the right choices for themselves and ultimately feel happier in their own spaces.

Helen Roberts
Always passionate about interior design and after years of decorating for friends and family, Helen became a certified Interior Refiner.  She is a member of the Interior Refiners Network, the preeminent organization of one-day decorators.  
She trained under Lauri Ward, the best selling author of "Use What You Have Decorating" and "Home Therapy".  
She also holds a certificate in Interior Design from the Sheffield School of Interior Design in New York and achieved an award of Merit for excellence in her study there.

                             

Pricing:

Our Interior Refinements are priced at a flat fee per room for the entire consultation based on the type of room.  Please call for a price list.  Ask about Packages discounts available for groups of rooms. 
Interior Decoration prices also have a flat fee for the initial design plan plus whatever shopping is required for the client. 
Resale-Ready quick consult has a flat fee for a two hour consultation while a full Resale-Ready consult has a package pricing based on the size of the home.
Other services have hourly rates.

FAQ's: 

Q. How much time does an Interior Refinement™ actually take?
A. A consultation usually lasts from one-and-a-half to three hours per room, so it is possible for us to consult on more than one room in a day.

Q. How will I know if Interior Editing shares my style preference?
A. Interior Editing has great respect for your preferences and therefore we work in every style, be it traditional, modern, country or eclectic. The basis for every consultation is the feedback provided by you at the time of your consultation. 

Q. How many visits are necessary for an Interior Refinement™?
A. A consultation requires only one visit to the home because everything is done in one day, no matter how many rooms are being refined.

Q. Will I be asked to leave my home during a consultation?
A. Never. Our consultations encourage client participation. We never ask you to leave your home and respect that the furnishings belong to you and not to us. We involve you in every step of the decision-making process. This insures that your preferences are reflected in the way your home is redecorated.

Q. Can you help me decorate an empty room too?
A. We are paid for our expertise and the information we provide, and so we frequently consult on empty rooms too (such as when clients are moving into a new home). But whenever necessary and where it is physically possible, furnishings are rearranged the day of the consultation. If oversized pieces cannot be moved, we will specify placement in the written design plan for you to move or place at a later date when proper help is available.

Q. I'm terrified of making expensive decorating mistakes. How can I avoid wasting money and aggravating myself?
A. We emphasize educating clients. This approach empowers and enlightens homeowners and renters so they become more independent and relaxed about their projects'. We will always make sure all of your questions are answered and that you are clear about all aspects of your project before the consultation ends. The results help you achieve your decorating goals and save money.
